After graduating from St. John's University in 1984, Daniel Danahey started working on his Ph.D. at The Ohio State University. His area of study was in the department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy.
While working on his post graduate degree, Daniel Danahey was a graduate research associate for the Department of Anatomy and a graduate teaching associate for first year medical students and first year dental students. He also received several awards and honors in the medical field for his research contributions and recognition in excellence on patient care and service.
After his Ph.D. graduation, Daniel Danahey enrolled in medical school at The Ohio State University and continued his teaching and research endeavors. He was involved in several medical school committees, competitions and organizations, one which he co-founded - Medical Scientist Student Organization.
In 1999, He received 1st place for his role in the annual William H. Saunder's Resident Research Competition and was awarded annually by the dean of the medical school for his role in research while attending medical school. Following his medical degree, Daniel Danahey did a surgical internship and then his residency at The Ohio State University, Department of Otolaryngology.
After his residency program, he did his fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Minnesota and completed two board certifications: American Board of Otolaryngology and American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In the spring of 2006, Dr. Danahey Danahey started his practice as a cosmetic facial plastic surgeon with Michiana Eye Center and Facial Plastic Surgery, Inc. in South Bend, Indiana. Dr. Danahey is the only cosmetic facial plastic surgeon in the area to have a Ph.D. in Human Anatomy and is double board certified.
